"Paul J. Lang, forty-eight years old, a World War veteran who served for eighteen months in France with Company I, 40th Engineers, died Thursday afternoon at the home of his mother, Mrs. Fredrika Lang, 5306 Lake avenue. Other survivors are two brothers, Fred Lang of St Joseph and Otto J. Lang of Tacoma, Wash.; and one sister, Mrs. Vena Purtell of St Joseph." St Joseph News-Press, December 13, 1934
