A funeral for Aaron Blaine Rakestraw of Lafayette will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Lafayette Community Church. Interment will be in Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan.

Mr. Rakestraw died of a gunshot wound March 17, 2003, in his home. He was 20.

He was born March 29, 1982, in Portland.

He had worked for Willamina Lumber and done carpentry work. He loved hunting, fishing, playing hockey and riding dirt bikes. He especially enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Karyn Cunningham of Sheridan; his father, Kevin Rakestraw of Lincoln City; two brothers, Nicholas Rakestraw of Sheridan and Justin Cook of Lincoln City; three sisters, Sarah Bacon of Sheridan and Tanya Rakestraw and Jamie Coe, both of Lincoln City; and four grandparents, Bob and Carol Rakestraw, both of Tualatin, Nita Cunningham of Sheridan and Burl Cunningham of Woodburn.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home.
