Mr. Earl Ray Allen was born May 29, 1925 to Earl Bailey and Mary Gunn Allen. Earl was the second child born to this union. His brothers and sister were Eugene, Travis, Mary Sue and Curtis. Earl was a member of the United States Navy and a veteran of World War II where he served in the South Pacific. Earl was a member of the Gray Baptist Church and the NRA

Earl married Bonnie Taylor in 1946. They had two sons: Larry Ray and Bobby Dale. He worked for Getty Oil Company, later known as Texaco as a mechanic for 40 years in Cayuga, TX. He and Bonnie lived in Cayuga and raised their family there. Earl retired in 1986 and he and Bonnie moved to Gray, TX on Caddo Lake. Bonnie passed away in 1992. Earl married Jackie Taylor in 1995.

Earl was an avid hunter and fisherman and spend many days with family and friends enjoying his hobbies.

Left to cherish is memories as his wife, Jackie, his sons, Larry and Bobby, grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, David, Alison, Matthew, and Aimee, great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Lauren, Ainsley, Brady, Taylor, and Clayton. Mr. Allen is also survived by 6 step- children, many nieces, nephews and friends that loved him dearly.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sister and granddaughter, Laura.

Earl entered into eternal rest on March 24, 2013 at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Jefferson, TX after an extended illness. Funeral services celebrating the life of Earl Allen will be on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Vivian, LA with Rev. Wayne Shew pastor of Gray Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Gray Cemetery, Gray, TX. The family will have a time of visitation on Friday, March 29th from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
