MRS. GATHRIGHT'S SUDDEN DEATH

She Passes Away At the Home of Her Son-In-Law, D. B. Sperry

Mrs. E. A. Gathright, widow of the late Owen Gathright, died rather suddenly yesterday morning at 6:30 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. D. B. Sperry, 1123 Fourth Avenue. She was seventy-five years old, having been born in
Oldham County in 1821. Hers was an old and partriotic family, her father having fought under Andrew Jackson at New Orleans and her grand-father having been in the battle of Bunker Hill. She lost a brother in the Mexican War and had three sons in the late war.

Mrs. Gathright was the mother of a large family. Eight children survive her; Miss J. T. Gathright and Owen Gathright, of Louisville; W. P. Gathright, of Kansas City; Mrs. C. L. Martin and Mrs. D. B. Sperry, of Louisville; Mrs. E. E. Smith of Atlanta; Mrs. John A. Lee, of St. Louis, an Mrs. Henry T. Cooke, of Chicago.

The deceased was a member of the First Christian church. The funeral will take place from the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. D. B. Sperry, this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. The pall-bearers will be: Messrs, Walter Walker, E. H. Bowen, Samuel Chambers, J. L. Chilton, W.E. Ambrose and Q. D. Vaughn.

Many Beautiful Floral Designs From Sorrowing Friends
The funeral of Mrs. E. A. Gathright took place at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon from the residence of her son0in-law, Mr. D. B. Sperry, at 1123 Fourth Avenue. The pall-bearers were as follows: Messers. Walter Walker, E. H. Bowen, Samuel Chambers, J. L. Clinton, W. E. Ambrose and Q. D. Vaughan. Many beautiful floral designs were sent by friends.
