According to family history, Harry's middle name was Randall/Randel. On his marriage record, his middle name is Reynolds. Harry's nickname was "Buz."

When Harry was young, he caught his toe in a bicycle and it was cut off. When his father died in 1901, Harry moved to Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland, to work for the B&O Railroad. He was only 13 years old at the time.

Harry married Grace Roberta (Butler) Coleman (9 Mar 1891 - 29 Oct 1969) on 28 Mar 1917 in Martinsburg, Berkeley County, West Virginia. Grace was born in Winchester, Virginia, to Joseph and Laura Butler.

In the 1920 U.S. Census, Harry and Grace were living in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland, and he was a "B&O Railroad brakeman."

Harry was killed in the train yard when he moved out of the way of one train and into the path of another.

In the1930 U.S. Census, the widowed Grace was living in Cumberland. She died in Allegany County, Maryland.
