Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
A native of South Carolina, he was a partner in the law firm of Douglas, Ravenel, Hardy, Crihfirld and Mosely, a member of the North Carolina and the American Bar Associations, of the St. John's Hunting Club, and of Greensboro Investment Club. He was also an Army veteran of World War II and a graduate of the College of Charleston and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Law School.
Surviving are wife, Louise Overton Ravenel; son, Thomas P. Ravenel Jr. of Greensboro; daughter, Melanie S. Ravenel of Greensboro; sister, Mrs. Frances Ravenel Shipman of Santa Fe, N.M.; brother, Joseph Archer Ravenel of Martinsville, Va.
The family will be at the residence.
