Irma "Ma-Ma" Agnes Adkins Clark, 91, died Friday July 16, 2010 at Brian Center.

Mrs. Clark was born September 2, 1918 in Penhook, VA, to the late Samuel Z. Adkins and the late Dolly Pearl Young Adkins. Irma was married to the late Aubrey A. Clark. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Christian Tabernacle, Callands, VA. Irma retired from Health Tex after 25 years of service as a cutter/inspector.

In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Clark was predeceased by one brother Frederick Adkins, one daughter, Glenda Jo Clark, and one son, Charles (Fred) Clark.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter-in-law, Ann Clark of Danville, VA; two sons, Samuel "Billy" Clark and wife Joyce of Eden, and Bobby Clark and wife Margaret of Axton, VA; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Moser and husband Dwayne, and Charles Sanford Clark and wife Melissa, all of Danville, VA, Wanda Phillips and husband Kevin of Yorktown, VA, Renee Clark-Haag and husband Paul of Winston Salem, Keith Clark and wife Brisa of Greensboro, Brian Clark and wife Katie of Eden, Joshua Hudson and Angus Wilson of Axton, VA, Deannea Clark and Christie Clark of Danville, VA; 12 great-grandchildren, Jared Moser and wife Sarah, Ashley Lumpkins and husband Petey, Brandi Weaver and husband Brandon, Raegan Clark, K.J. Clark, Patrick and Jessica Phillips, Elliot Hagg, Sam and Abby Clark, Sabrina Hodnett, and A.J. Nick.; numerous nieces and nephews. Irma is also survived by her beloved dog, Suzie.

Irma "Ma-Ma; Shorty" was the glue that held her large family together. Her Lord and her family were the most important things to her. If you loved someone in her family, then she loved you. She was always cooking and if you came to her house for a visit you got a hug and you best be prepared to eat. She made the best green beans across five counties. She was always the last one to sit down to eat because she had to be sure that everyone had their plates full of food before she would eat. She loved the holidays and family time and you've never seen a more beautiful smile than when you saw Ma-Ma looking around her, with her entire family surrounding her. If you tried to leave too early, she would always say "what's your hurry, you just got here". She could never have enough pictures of her family surrounding her in her house.

Other than her family, her other joys in life were cooking and baking, gardening (especially roses), pottery, the beach, NASCAR, the redskins, Duke basketball, playing Rook and eating popcorn. She was always dressed to the nines even if she was in the garden. We will miss you Ma-Ma, but we will see you again one sweet day. We will continue the ties that bind that you so generously taught us as a family. We love you.

The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel, Dr. Howard and Katie Skillman for your care in her time of need. We would also like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of the Brian Center in Eden for taking Ma-Ma into your arms and surrounding her with care and love. To Wanda Meeks, we can never thank you enough for your love and care of Ma-Ma.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Christian Tabernacle, Callands, VA, with Dr. Daryl Law and Rev. Roy Parker officiating. Interment will follow at the Clark Family Cemetery located at Christian Tabernacle Church, Callands, VA.
