`Son of Samuel S and Catherine (Dilling) Baker. He was a prominent farmer in Bedford county all his life. A member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at the Church of the Brethren at New Enterprise, he also served for 22 years a member of the South Woodbury township
school board, was a member of the board of road supervisors.

Survivors include his wife, Iva Replogle, and children: Landis Baker of Alum Bank, Hanna Clouse and Samuel Baker, both of Waterside, Wilbur Baker of Norristown, Laura Zimmerman of Hopewell, Mary Hamilton of Pittsburgh, and Lola Mae, at home. One brother, David S Baker of Waterside.
