She was born to Daniel W. and Nellie M. (Honsinger) Lynch on October 6, 1921, in Trinidad, Colorado, and died Monday, March 30, 2009, in Enid.
Iva's family moved to Enid when she was a child, and she attended school in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. On May 11, 1942, she married Donald F. Hawkins in Houston, Texas, and they made their home in Enid. In 1950, Iva went to work for Dr. Newell, Sr. in his office and worked for him until his death. She then worked for his son Dr. Newell, Jr. until his retirement, at which time she was employed by Dr. Herlihey. She retired in the mid 70's, and the couple moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas and then Hot Springs, Arkansas. After her husband's death in 1997, she returned to Enid. She was very active with R.S.V.P. from 1999 to early 2008. She made many friends there and enjoyed traveling with them. Iva was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Donald E. Hawkins of Enid, and Gary L. Hawkins and wife Mary Ruth of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and one grandson D.H. Hawkins and wife Vanda of West Fork, Arkansas.
Iva was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1997, and three brothers.
