Funeral services for Walter Irvin Chamberlain, 71, were held Feb. 14 at Wilton
Junction with the Rev. I. G. Wilkins officiating. Burial was in the Rochester
cemetery. Mr. Chamberlain died Feb. 11 at Veterans hospital in Iowa City,
following a lengthy illness.
The son of William and Agnes Kramer Chamberlain, he was born Oct. 7, 1895 at
Tipton.
He married Madelle Morehouse Sept. 29, 1921 at Cedar Rapids. Mr. Chamberlain
was a member of the Methodist church, the Tipton American Legion and the
Rainbow Division association of Cedar Rapids. A former resident of Tipton, he
had lived at Wilton Junction for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife; 3 brothers, J. Everett Chamberlain and Forrest J.
Chamberlain, both of Tipton; and Ralph R. Chamberlain of Kenosha; and 2
sisters, Mrs. Dawson Powers, Tipton and Mrs. Eve Pirie, Stanwood. One sister
preceded him in death.

Wilton - Walter Irvin Chamberlain, 71, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.
The son of William and Agnes Kramer Chamberlain, he was born Oct. 7, 1895, at Tipton.
He married Mardelle Morehouse on Sept. 29, 1921, at Cedar Rapids. Mr. Chamberlain was a member of the Methodist church, the Tipton American Legion, and the Rainbow Division association of Cedar Rapids. A former resident of Tipton, he had lived at Wilton for ten years.
Survivors include his wife; three brothers, J. Everett Chamberlain and Forrest J. Chamberlain, both of Tipton, and Ralph R. Chamberlain of Kenosha; and two sisters, Mrs. Dawson Powers of Tipton and Mrs. Eve Pirie of Stanwood. One sister is dead.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Gill Memorial home in Wilton with Rev. I.G. Wilkins officiating. Interment will be at the Rochester cemetery in Rochester, Ia.
