Catherine married Dorville Chamberlin 6 May 1852 in Maysville, DeKalb, Missouri. They had 5 children, Polly Anna, George Washington, Melvina, Catherine Eliza 'Kate', and Dorvill Chamberlin. Her husband Dorville died from Dysentery during the Civil War 29 December 1864 in Albia, Monroe County, Iowa. Catherine and Noah Kerns were cousins. He had lost his wife Sally 25 March 1875. Catherine married him 1 Jul 1875 in De Kalb County, Missouri. She had her 5 children and his 12 to raise.
Catherine died 3 Jul 1895 and was buried in Best Chapel Cemetery, Pattonsburg, Daviess County, Missouri.
