Wife of Congressman John Edward Kenna

Bluefield Evening Leader, Bluefield, West Virginia

Thursday, February 25, 1909, page 1

A special to the Charleston Gazette of yesterday announces the death of Mrs Anna B Kenna, widow of United States Senator John E Kenna.

Washington, Feb 24. - Mrs Annie B Kenna died this morning at 12:20 o'clock at the new Homeopathic Hospital in this city following an illness of several months. When the summons came she was surrounded by all her children.

The remains will be taken to Charleston tonight. The interment will probably be made Saturday.

Mrs Kenna had been ill for several months. She came to Washington directly from a Boston, Mass, hospital where she had remained some weeks for treatment, and was a guest of her daughter until she entered a local hospital. For the past two or three days she had been desperately ill and her children were summoned. Yesterday (Tuesday) all hope was given up and her physician declared she had only a few hours to live.

Surrounding her when the end came were her children, Edward B, Arthur, John E and Joe Kenna and Mrs Blaine Elkins of Elkins.
