Maurice George Baker was born on November 29, 1895. They lived in Verndale MN. He was the first born of William and Nettie (Hines) Baker. His parents farmed in Texas from 1906 to 1912.
He eloped March 1929 with Erma Irene Davis at Ada MN. Eight children were born to them.
He suffered a stroke while working in the barn on August 11, 1969 and died August 20, 1969 at Wesley Hospital in Wadnea MN. Funeral services were held from the Central Methodist Church with interment at the Verndale Green Lawn Cemetery.
