Funeral services for David Marion Willis, 80, retired building contractor resident in Oak Cliff for the last forty years, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Oak Cliff Christian Church. The Rev. Paul G. Preston will officiate. Mr. Willis, who died Saturday, was elder emeritus of the church, of which he was also a charter member.

Mr. Willis was a native of Missouri. He was a resident of Oak Cliff during his whole life in this city. He is survived by two sons, Frank H. Willis of Pekin, Ill., and Delbert Willis, 221 Center Street, with whom he lived.

Members of No. 14 Engine Company of the Dallas fire department will be pallbearers. Burial will be in the Old Oak Cliff Cemetery.

David Marion Willis was born 1850 in Middletown, Montgomery Co. MO to Thomas Willis of VA & wife Lydia Davis. David first married Roda Ann Truelove in 1873 in Pike Co. MO. They had a son, Franklin Harvey born 1875. After her death in 1882, he married Lovinia Reed (Reid) ca. March 1886 in Montgomery Co. MO. They had a son, Percy A. Delbert born 1889 in MO. They moved to the Dallas area about 1896, where he was a carpenter & a contractor. (Thanks to Nancy Domjanovich for this additional information)
