He was born January 9, 1974, in Ottumwa to David and Janey Bitner.
A 1992 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he attended Indian Hills Community College. He worked in restaurant businesses in Fr. Collins, Colo., Eureka Springs, Ark., and Denver, Colo. He enjoyed hiking, biking and spending time with friends.
Survivors include his mother, Janey (Frank) Huston of Ottumwa; a brother, Sean (Angela) Bitner of S. Elgin, Ill; a grandmother, Verna Knedler; aunts, uncles and cousins..
He was preceded in death by his father, David Bitner; and grandparents, Kenneth and Lola Bitner and Wn. Paul Knedler.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, Septenber 17, 2010, at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with burial in Shaul Cemetery.
