Services for Vernon L. Alexander, Chadwick, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fairhaven United Methodist Church, rural Chadwick. Burial will be in Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll, with Masonic services at 8 p.m.
Mr. Alexander died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. He was a lifelong farmer. He raised livestock, especially Hereford cattle. He was born May 23, 1924, in Fairhaven Township. He married LaVeda Durward in 1946 in Thomson. A memorial fund has been established.
Survivors include his wife, LaVeda; a daughter, Karen Schriner, Lanark; sons, Raymond, Keith and Larry, all of Chadwick; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
