JACKSONVILLE NC - Betty A. Allen, 85, of Jacksonville, died at Britthaven of Jacksonville on Sept. 8, 2010.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband George Edward Allen Sr. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star and a member of Northwoods United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with the Revs. Rick Moser and Chris Jarman officiating. Interment will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veteran Cemetery.
Surviving are daughter, Sherry A. Graig of Jacksonville; son, George Edward Allen Jr. and his wife June of Palm Beach Garden, Fla.; five grandchildren, Chris Alentino and his wife Kerry of Greensboro, Misty Jarman and her husband Chris of Richlands, Lisa Schmitt and her husband Travis of Palm Beach Garden, Fla., Travis Allen and his wife Amy of Boca Raton, Fla., and Scott Edward Allen of Palm Beach Garden, Fla.; eight great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; sister, Frances Cox of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home.
Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to, American Cancer Society or Northwoods United Methodist Church pantry.
