Fay Wright, son of John D. Wright and Mary Ann Lewis Wright was born on October 1, 1869 on a farm in Lyons Township, and departed this life September 23, 1920. Had he lived until October 1st he would have been 61 years of age. His parents were early-day residents, who had come here in 1856, shortly after their marriage at their former home in Indiana. Their close neighbors at that time included the families of his father's brother, A. R. Wright, Abner Boswell, John Haynie and Peter DeLashmutt, all of whom have been identified with the development of that section of Mills county and the adjacent territory. When Fay was about five years old the family moved to Glenwood. His family later returned to their farm in Lyons on the Missouri River bottom, a farm widely known for its fertility and productivity. For several years Fay assisted his father in the management of the farm and became a farmer. In 1892 he married Etta Estes, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. William Estes and his father then established him on a part of what had been the A. R. Wright farm. After a few years on this place opportunity offered to secure what had been the farm home of his wife's parents, four miles south of Glenwood and he has since then lived at intervals on this farm in Glenwood. At present his son John Wright is operating this farm.

Attorney and Mrs. H.M. Logan while out driving about 6:30 passed the Glenwood cemetery, seeing Mr. Wright's car parked near the family lot and his prostrate body lying on the ground, came at once to the Raynor funeral home where they notified Coroner F.H. Raynor who returned with them. They found the the lifeless body of Fay Wright near his wife's grave and a single barrel 12 guage shot gun lying near. Mr. Wright had been despondent since his wife's death. He is survived by two daughters Mrs. J. C. Throckmorton and Mrs. John S. Crookham. one son John and a sister Mrs. Frank Hill.
