Surprised Their Friends
Our friend,, Jacob Williams, of Polk township, better known as Washington county's "Giant" & Miss Laura Collglazier, daughter of George Collglazier, were married on last Saturday forenoon by Elder W. Y. Allen of the Christian church, of this place. But very few persons were aware of the wedding until the ceremony was over. W. C. Snider had been apprised of the fact a few days before. Judge Buskirk was to have officiated but was busy in the Orange Circuit Court && sent a letter of regrets, & also an invitation for the bride & groom to spend their honeymoon at Pauli as guests of the Judge. There were present at the marriage ceremony Mr. & Mrs. W. C. Snider, Mrs. Asa Elliott & Robert F. Moss. The gusts in extending congratulations to the happy couple, expressed to the bride the hope that her married life might be as " long" & happy as her husbands.
