Christina Matilda Anderson was born May 24, 1845, at Linkoping, Sweden, and died at her home near Latham, Kansas, March 24, 1902, aged 56 years and 10 months.
The deceased was married to John M. Anderson on the 29th day of November, 1867. Five children blessed this union, three of whom who died in infancy, and two, Augusta Linderos and Charles Anderson, still live to mourn her loss. The deceased and her husband came to American in 1873. Six years later the husband and father was called home, leaving the deceased and two small children.
In 1880 Peter Pearson and the deceased were married at Clarinda, Iowa. Five children blessed this union, Sella, Anna, Nellie, Mary and Oscar, all of whom are left to mourn the loss of a mother.
The deceased joined the Swedish Lutheran church at the age of 15 years. After coming to America she united with the Methodist church in 1874, and ever after till the day of her death lived a faithful, consistent, Christian life.
After bidding her children farewell and almost with her last breath asking them to meet her in heaven, she peacefully, quietly, and without struggle passed away. The funeral was held from the M.E. church in Latham, conducted by Rev. Geeslin, on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and interment was made in the cemetery west of town.
