Joseph was born 21 June, 1825 in St. Mathias, Rouville, Quebec, Canada to Louis and Marie-Marquerite Regnier dit Brillion Touchette. He married Charlotte Onessima Elizah Vient on 15 Feb., 1848 in St, Mathias. Joseph and Onessima immigrated to Wisconsin in 1855 from Quebec. Father of "Unknown", twins Josephine and Joseph, Virginia, Matilda, Flora, Alfred, Frederick, John, Henry, Alexander, and Edward. He worked his later life in the lumber mills of Fond Du Lac, Wisc.
On the 1880 census, he was a gravedigger at the cemetery.
