Donald is finally at peace, he passed away at his home in Anderson.

He wishes and hopes that anyone who knew him will try and remember something good about him. Cremation was his final choice with his ashes to be scattered over the Carper Pot at East Maplewood Cemetery. There will be no viewing or services other than immediately family.

Preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Ruth Carper; his son, Kevin Earl Carper; brothers, ronald Carper, Michael Carper and Jerry Carper.

Don retired from General Motors Delco-Delphi in May 1995 after 33 years of service, he also served in the U.S. Naval Intelligence Group from 1956-1960. He loved fishing, NASCAR racing and seeing his family.

Survivors include five children, Teresa Bowlin of Chesterfield, Jeff Carper (wife, Jeanmarie) of Edmond, Okla., Veronica Thomas (husband, Scott) of Chesterfield, Amanda Sweeney of Anderson and Jill Reels of Yorktown; 14 grandchildren, Trent Thomas, Kristen Thomas, Zachery Bowlin, Justin Bowlin, Kelsey Bowlin, Megan Carper, Nicholas Carper, Dillen Carper, Dony Sweeney, Kyleigh Carper, MaryKate Carper, Caroline Carper, Cameron Golish and Tyler Reels; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Thomas and Gunner Bowlin; two brothers, Dannie Carper (wife, June) and Earl Carper (wife, Jo); and two sisters, Carolyn Braden (husband, Carl) and Phyllis Huff. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Ruth Carper; his son, Kevin Earl Carper; brothers, Ronald Carper, Michael Carper and Jerry Carper.
