Mrs. Jacob LeMaster

Sarah Halfhill was born in Ohio, November 26, 1844 and died at her home in Ord, Nebraska, June 18, 1920, aged 75 years, 6 months and 22 days.
She was married to Jacob LeMaster December 27, 1866 in Indiana and lived there until 1883 when they came to Valley county, settling in Plain Valley on a homestead. That was their home for 24 years. They lived in Greeley county for three years and ten years ago when their age made it necessary that a less strenuous life than farm life be found they came to Ord and their little place in the southeast part of town has been their home during these ten years and it was there that the wife passed away.
Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. LeMaster, two dying in infancy. The nine living are Hubert LeMaster of Ord, Mrs. Margaret Patrick of Ericson, Charles LeMaster of Eureka, Kansas, Mrs. Elizabeth Swanson of Belgrade, Mrs. Malinda Bebee of Rosevale, Mrs. Lena Pigman of Canada, John LeMaster of Wyoming and Jonas LeMaster of Belgrade. There are 34 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Mrs. LeMaster joined the Methodist church in 1884 and the funeral was held from the local Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, Pastor Hosman officiating and interment being made in the local cemetery. Deceased was a good wife and mother, numbering her friends by her acquaintances.
They are not dead; she has but passed
Beyond the mists that blind us here,
Into the new and larger life
Of that serener sphere
