Grace Cover O'Connor

OGDEN--Mrs. Grace Cover O'Connor, 67, wife of George O'Connor, former Ogden city commissioner, and prominent Ogden Catholic laywoman, died Friday at 3:50 p.m. at the family residence, 3149 Gramercy Ave., after a lingering illness.

Mrs. O'Connor was born March 4, 1884, at Stillwater, Minn., a daughter of John and Katherine Long Cover.

On Sept. 19, 1907, she was married to Mr. O'Connor at Stillwater. The couple moved to Galveston, Texas, following their marriage and resided there for a time, later moving to Houston, Texas, and then to Butte and Missoula, Mont., coming to Ogden in July, 1923, where they had since resided.

Mrs. O'Connor was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and for many years had been active in the Catholic Woman's League, the St. Joseph's Sewing Society, the Altar Society and the Promoters of the League of the Sacred Heart. She was a former member of the BPO Does, Drove No. 27.

Surviving are her husband; two sons and two daughters, Roderick (Rod) O'Connor, Hollywood, Cal.; Richard O'Connor, Ogden; Mrs. Vern (Kathleen) Greenlesh, San Luis Obispo, Cal.; Miss Nora O'Connor, Pacific Grove, Cal.; 12 grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Dave Cover, Miami, Fla.; Miss Carrie Cover, Mrs. Nellie Cover and Mrs. Agnes Costello, Stillwater, Minn.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Myers and Foulgers Mortuary.
