DIES SOON
AFTER WIFE

Mr. Coleman Madison Anderson, well known Marietta man, passed away after an illness lasting several years, at 9:15 o'clock Thursday night at his home at 717 Quarry street. The deceased had been suffering from rheumatism for several years and death was due to this ailment and complications.
Mr. Anderson was born at Belleville, W. Va., November 15, 1851 and was therefore 66 years of age. On March 14, 1872, he was united in marriage to Miss Harriett Matilda Hayes, of Barlow, whose death occurred on Wednesday morning, only two days previous to the death of her husband.
Six children were born to them, four of whom survive. They are Cy and Cale, of Marietta; Al of Newark, and Mrs. O. E. Merrill, of Akron. A step-mother Mrs. Temperance Anderson and a half-sister, Miss Delma Anderson both of this city, also survive.
In his early life Mr. Anderson was a farmer and lived on his farm at Belleville, W. V. But 27 years ago he came to Marietta and entered the bicycle business which his sons had established in this city. Until his health demanded his retirement several years ago he been active in the bicycle and automobile business of the city.
A double funeral over the remains of the husband and wife will be held at the residence at 717 Quarry street at 1:30 o'clock, the cortege will leave the house for the First Methodist Church, where the major service will be held. Burial will be made in Oak Grove. Rev. Frank N. Lynch will conduct the services.
