Wolfe City- Funeral services for Alta V. Thornton, 83, of Wolfe City, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hickory Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. L.B. Lyon officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mrs. Thornton Died Sunday morning in her home. She was born Nov. 11, 1907, in the Kaiser Community, the daughter of Benton and Louise Cook Harrell . She married Richard Thornton on Dec. 21, 1930, in Durant, Okla. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1982.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Thornton of Wolfe City; and one daughter, Meredith Norris of Wolfe City; and four grandchildren.
Owens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
