Surviving are his father and stepmother, Stanley and Naomi McClelland of Cherokee Village, Ark.; his mother, Susan McClelland of Morton; two sisters, Mary Anne (Rodney) Staker of Morton and Carol McClelland of Lacon; one brother, Mark S. McClelland of Pottstown, Pa.; two nieces; one nephew; and his best friend, Gary (Becky) Swibold of Fairview, Ill.
A pipefitter, David was a member of The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Union Steamfitters Local 353 in Peoria.
He enjoyed participating in and watching local stock car races and was an avid watcher of NASCAR.
David was ingenious with his creative mechanical abilities. More importantly, he was known for his compassion and gift of giving.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria at a later date.
