Services were Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic church, Elk Point. Rev. John Rasmussen officiated. Burial will be at a later date at All Souls cemetery, Long Beach, Calif. Anderson funeral home, Elk Point, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gale, the former Josephine R. Boden, was born May 19, 1898, in Sioux Valley township, Union county, S.D. She attended Spring Creek rural school and Akron parochial school. She married Ralph F. Gale Nov. 19, 1917, at Akron. The couple lived in the Akron area and then at Sioux City where she was employed with Kresge Co. In 1963, they moved to Long Beach, Calif. He died Nov. 12, 1963, at Long Beach. She then moved to Fremont, Neb., where she lived until 1986 when she moved to Elk Point. Mrs. Gale was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church '"at" "Elk"" Point,; the Alta Society of the church and the Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Rose) Primm of Elk Point; a sister, Lenore Sanford of Placentia, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Gerald, Arnold and Arthur; a granddaughter, Patricia; and 10 brothers and sisters.
