Mrs. Henry C. Reese, age 84, daughter of Phillip and Mary Birkey Glider was born in Washington County, Iowa, May 30, 1878 and died December 14, 1962. She was married to Henry C. Reese in Prescott, Iowa, November 4, 1903. To this union three children were born, Henry Floyd Reese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mary Esther Reese, who died in infancy, March 10, 1913, and Helen Grace Reese, who died March 18, 1944 at the age of 30 years. Surviving are two grandsons, two great-grandsons, and one great grand-daughters. Also one step daughter and one step son.
Mrs. Reese resided at Prescott, Iowa until 1925. She then moved to Ames, Iowa, where she lived until November 1962. At this time she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to live with her son, where she quietly passed away.
Services were held Monday, December 17, at 2 p.m., from the Stringtown Church with Howard Wetts officiating. Music was by Mrs. Doyle Tranbarger, Mrs. Bert Peckham, and Mrs. Dick Cook. Pall bearers were Brad Outhier, Forest Polson, Jack Butler, Lyle Pottinger, Gerald Geatty, and Forest McGregor. Interment was in the Stringtown Cemetery.
