1.) Mr. Charles Gedultig, foreman of the gang who have been packing and shipping apples from Lamoni, was stricken suddenly Sunday with paralysis at the home of J. W. Mather, where he was boarding, and attempting to come downstairs fell helpless.

Dr. Mather answered his call for help, and medical aid was summoned and everything possible was done for him, but it being the third stroke he had had he died from its effects on Monday about noon.

His son from Davis City was summoned immediately and arrived here during the night. Three daughters arrived from St. Joseph Monday night, and the body was conveyed there Tuesday for burial.
