Daughter of Thomas Cockey and Ruth Brown.

From the Baltimore Sun, May 18, 1848:

On the 5th instant, in the 44th year of her age, Mrs. Dolly B. Stocksdale. The deceased suffered long with the disease of which she died; bore her sufferings with patience and calm resignation to the will of her Creator, and has left a numerous circle of children and friends to mourn their loss - who will cherish in their memories the recollection of her many virtues and inestimable qualities of heart. In the domestic relations, as mother, she was loving, confiding, and affectionate in the practice of those virtues which render home at once endearing and attractive, as neighbor, she was kind; and as a friend, sincere and true. In the fullness of years she has descended to the tomb, and though she has seen the last of earth, her example, while here, will serve to animate those she has left behind to pursue the same path of duty, justice and love, and thus rear for themselves, names to be remembered with esteem, respect and veneration.
