Jeffrey David Barton, 15, of Westwood Road, Moodus section of East Haddam, formerly of Wallingford, died unexpectedly Monday (May 1, 2000). He was the beloved son of David G. and Robin Sturmer Barton of Moodus. Born in Meriden, April 23, 1985, he had been a Wallingford resident until moving to Moodus one year ago. He was a student at the Nathan Hale Middle School in Moodus and had previously attended Pond Hill School and Dag Hammarskjold Middle School, both in Wallingford. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Jessika Marie Barton of Moodus; his paternal grandparents, Frederick and Mary Barton; his maternal grandfather, Raymond Sturmer; his great grandmothers, Mary Hutchings and Elsie Sturmer, all of Wallingford; and will be truly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Gwendolyn Sturmer. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., in the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 South Main St., Wallingford. The Rev. Dean O. Warburton, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Jeffrey Barton Memorial Fund, c/o The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, CT. 06492.
