Born in Lebanon on September 20, 1922, Mary was a daughter of the late Clement H. and Grace O. (Bright) Allwein.
Mary was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Lebanon. She worked as an operator for the former Bell Telephone and Crestview Answering Service. She loved watching John Wayne movies and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
She is survived by 5 children: Kathleen M. Calhoun of Mt. Gretna; Michael J., husband of Colleen Calhoun of Myerstown; James E., husband of Roxana Calhoun of Lebanon; Mary Ann, wife of Howard Schauer of Womeldsdorf; Teresa, wife of Frank Klick of Lebanon; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Allwein and 2 sisters, Jeannette Tribley and Marjorie Falk. Mary was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, 202 E. Lehman St., Lebanon 17046. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery. Viewing hours Monday morning from 10-11 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to Catholic Charities, 503 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with the arrangements.
