Marlene Ruth Cunningham, 59, of Bakersfield, formerly of Marietta, died Thursday, June 9, 1994, at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. She was born July 4, 1934, in Marietta to Martha McMahon Padgitt and George D. Padgitt Jr. She had attended Marietta High School. Mrs. Cunningham is survived by her husband of 43 years, Edgar G. Cunningham; four sons, Roger Cunningham and his wife, Evon, of Bakersfield, Rodney Cunningham and his wife, Debbie, of Marietta, Timothy Cunningham and his wife, Sonia, of Riverside, Calif., and Bryan Cunningham and his wife, Elesha, of Bakersfield; eight grandchildren, Tim, Matthew, Corri, Jeremy, Bryan, Brittany and Kody, all of California, and Ryan of Marietta; her mother of Lowell; two sisters, Georgia Stewart of Lowell and Mrs. Ronald (Carol A.) Hamilton of Lowell; one brother, Donald L. Padgitt of Enon; one niece; and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; one infant brother, Lyle Dean Padgitt; and one grandson, Reno Cunningham. Service were held June 11 at Southwest Church of Religious Sciene in Bakersfield. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Marietta.
