My maternal grandmother's father. He died when my mother was 2 years old, and so no one actually remembers him now. My grandmother had a picture of him, but an aunt claimed it, and it was not among her possessions after her death so we don't know what happened to it. My grandmother was very fond of him, although he was a very formidable looking man in his picutre, and on her deathbed, she insisted he was sitting in the corner of her hospital room.
