Alberta Mae CAROLUS, 87, a resident of Huntingdon Manor, formerly of Barree Road, Alexandria, R.D. 1, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 1 a.m., at Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon. Born Dec. 25, 1913, in Barree, she was reared by her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keith. She married John Wesley Carolus May 16, 1933, in Petersburg. He preceded her
in death ]an. 13, 1966. Surviving are five children: James W. Carolus, Huntingdon; Robert J. Carolus, Petersburg; Mrs. Kermit (Laura A.) Patterson, Huntingdon; Harvey B. Carolus, Alexandria; and Roberta R. Port, Huntingdon. There are 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild. One sister, Betty Graham of Altoona, survives. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie J. Danielak Oct. 19, 1999. One brother and a granddaughter are deceased. Mrs. Carolus was primarily a homemaker. For a number of years she had been
employed by K-Mart in the yard goods department. She retired in 1968. She was a member of the Barree United Methodist Church, where she had been the pianist for a number of years. Mrs. Carolus was also active
with the Juniata Valley Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed cooking, bingo and playing the piano. She attended the Alexandria public schools and had been a long-time resident of the Juniata Valley prior to moving to Huntingdon Manor May 31, 1996. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Juniata Valley Chapel, 412 Main St., Alexandria, with the Rev. Sharon Landis
officiating. Interment will be made in the Mooresville Cemetery.
