MUNCIE--Barney C. Cooper, 90, died Saturday in Ball Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Cooper was born in Jamestown, Tenn., and moved to Muncie in 1960. He was a consturction worker and former pastor at Friendly Baptist Church. He has been in the ministry for more than 67 years.
Survivors include a son, Barney Clayton Cooper (wife-Donna); three daughters, Olen Whitehurst (husband-Woody), Flossie Hinds (husband-Robert), and Gail Garrett; four sisters, Rosie Beeler, Clancy Beeler, Alba Reagon, and Hattie Winningham; daughter-in-law, Shirley Cooper; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and special friend, Grace Thaenes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Cooper; a daughter; a son; a brother; a sister, and a grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery. Calling will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Parson Moruary. Memorial contributions may be made to Westside Baptist Church.
