The son of Thomas Lukehart and the wife of [Dollie] Irene Lukehart . William and Dolly were married on 12 May 1908 in Punxsutawney, Jefferson county ,PA. He lived in Creekside ,Indiana County and he worked as an Acetylene Welder for the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal and Railroad Company. He died at the Indiana Hospital in Indiana of the injuries he received when he was injured by an explosion of steam in an iron casting he had been working on while at work at the Lucerne Mine, this was deemed an accident by the Coroner, John Woods of Indiana County. The Informant on William's death certificate appears to have been his brother in law- William Condron Jr. of Creekside.

Obituary Transcription:
"William F. Lukehart, Creekside, Indiana county, a native of Tyrone, died Sunday morning at Indiana hospital of injuries said to have been suffered in an accident last Friday while working as a machinist in a Lucerne Mine when he was engaged in heading a cast iron mine-pump piston. The hollow piston, was filled with water and during the heating process exploded, wrecking tlhe shop in which he was working. Mr. Lukehart had both legs broken and suffered other injuries. He was born at Tyrone, 17 July 1886 [sic ], a son of the late Thomas F. Lukehart. Surviving are his wife. Mrs. Doll (Condron) Lukehart and four children, William, Bus, Roy and Jane, all at home and one grandchild. Brothers and sisters surviving are Ralph M. Lukehart, 427 Crawford Avenue, in Altoona; Mrs. Maul Stere and Mrs. Etta Crepe, both of Tyrone, and Mrs. Grace Trageser, Pittsburg. Funeral services will be held from his home, Creekside, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. "
