John M. Beck, age 71, died suddenly Monday, October 7, 1935, at his home on West Pittsburgh Street, Scottsdale, Pennsylvania. Born on June 4, 1864, at Hunker’s Station, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, he was the first child of the late William S. Beck and Mary Anna Albright Beck.
He is survived by his widow: Mrs. Elizabeth Stamm Beck, a daughter: Mrs. Mary R. Graft of Owensdale, Pennsylvania, and a son: Raymond W. Beck of the home.
Mr. Beck was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church of Scottsdale. He was a retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineer having been in service with that organization for forty-two years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Engineers and the Greensburg Masonic Lodge.
The body has been removed from the Greensburg residence to the Murphy Funeral Home, Pittsburgh and Chestnut Streets, Scottsdale, where friends will be received at any time.
Funeral services will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Interment will be in the Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
