William C. Eckert served as a Freight Conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 31 years. He was part of the Order of B. of R.T., No. 408 in which at some time held the position of secretary and Chairman. He served as a Councilman of Tyrone from 1919 to 1931. William and Sarah were members of the Columbia Avenue Methodist Church in Tyrone, in which he served as part of the Official Board for many years and Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher.
