Funeral services for Mrs. Avannah Brown Dowell, 83, who died Friday at the Lone Oak rest home in Alexandria, TN, were held at Hooper and Huddleston funeral home Sunday afternoon. D. D. Woody, minister of Broad Street Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Cookeville City

Mrs. Dowell was the widow of Byrd Dowell who died in 1934. She was a native of Putnam county. Mrs. Dowell was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. George McCoy, Stonewall, OK, and Mrs. Jannah Wilhite, Knoxville.
