Humansville Samuel J. Coberly, 74, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, Nov. 25.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28 in the First Baptist Church with the Rev J.E. Jackson, officiating. Singers were Mrs. June Brown and Mrs. Vella Crawford and the accompanist was Mrs Peggy Parke.
Samuel Jones Coberly, the son of George E. and Minerva Flint Coberly, was born October 10, 1893 in Humansville, Mo. and passed away on November 25, 1967 at the family home in Humansville. At the time of his death, he was 74 years, 1 month and 25 days of age.
In May of 1918 he was united in marriage to Mabel Wilson and to this union three sons were born.
A life long resident of Humansville, he was a member of the Humansville Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War I.
Preceding him in death was one son, Donald, who passed away, February 18, 1929 and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel of the home in Humansville, two sons, James, Alexandria, Virginia and Leonard of Thousand Oaks, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Mason and Mrs.Jessie Zerkel, both of Humansville; two brothers, Jim of Camerillo, Calif., and Carl of Susanville, Calif., 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Selby Crawford, Frank Zerkel, Gregg Miller, Jack Sayre, Otis Hughes and George McBride.
Interment was in the Humansville cemetery under the direction of the Tillery Funeral Home.

The World War I veteran was a member of the Humansville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mabel: two sons, Leonard, Thousand Oaks, Calif., and James, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Mason and Mrs. Jessie Zerkel, both of Humansville: two brothers Jim of Camarillo, Calif., and Carl, Susanville, Calif-: 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Tillary of Humansville.
