DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT
ELIJAH BOLANDER WAS EIGHTY FIVE YEARS OLD
Was a Veteran of the Civil War and Had lived in Chillicothe thirty-two years.

Elijah Bolander, one of the oldest residents of Livingston county died at his home on Hickory street at 5:55 Thursday evening, of old age and general disability.

Mr. Bolander would have been 86 years old next April. He was born in Brown county, Ohio, April 15, 1817, and came to Chillicothe 32 years ago. During a number of years preceeding his death he had been in very feeble health.

Mr. Bolander was a veteran of the civil war, serving in the Sixteenth Indiana volunteers. He had been married three times, his third wife, who was Mrs. Cheney prior to her marriage to him, survives him. Eleven children were born to him of his first marriage and by his second and third marriages he became the step-father of fourteen children, making him the father and step-father to twenty-five children.

Funeral from the family residence Saturday at 9 o'clock, R. H. Ellett, officiating; burial in Jones cemetery.

(Actually buried in Burnside cemetery in Livingston county Missouri).
