B. F. Turner, well known retired farmer, formerly of Hamilton county, passed away at the family home, the "O-K" farm immediately south of the city, yesterday after a long illness.
Benjamin F. Turner was born November 14, 1845, in Logan county, Ill. His father was Harvey Turner and his mother's mane prior to marriage was Elizabeth Hoblit. He was married December 31, 1868, to Sarah H. Boyd at Bloomville, Seneca county, O., and she died December 28, 1906 (sic). No children are living. One brother, Alfred Turner lives in Atlanta, Ill. Six brothers and three sisters are dead. He was married to Mrs. Lizzie Fonner on September 16, 1907, at Grand Island. He lived in Hamilton county from 1880 until after 190. He served in the civil war in Company C, 1334 regiment, Illinois volunteer infantry under Col. Thaddeus Phillips. Mr. Turner passed away at 6:12 (old time) Sunday, June 1. Funeral services will be from the residence at 2 o'clock (old time) on Tuesday with burial in the Grand Island cemetery. Earl Tuttle, a nephew, resides in Grand Island. The rest of his relatives live in the east.
