Mrs. Henry Devenney, age 79, passed away Tuesday at the City hospital. She had been in failing health for several years.

Born April 23, 1862, at Rock Island, Illinois. Mrs. Devenney came to Kansas when she was 16. She taught school in eastern Geary County for 4-5 years.

On October 8, 1883, she was united in marriage to Henry Devenney at the home of her parents. Mr. & Mrs. Devenney lived in eastern Geary County until 1907 when they moved to their home south of Junction City.

Surviving are the husband; four children: Willard Devenney, Junction City; Fred M. Devenney, Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Russell Wahle, Junction City; and Tom Devenney, Kansas City, Kansas; a brother A.O. Crist, Pond Creek, Oklahoma; and 12 grandchildren.

Ralph and Raymond, twin sons of Willard Devenney, were reared by the grandparents. Ralph is a member of the Naval Reserve at Annapolis, Maryland and Raymond makes his home at Saginaw, Michigan.

Mrs. Devenney was a member of the Christian Church and the Lyons Creek Farm Bureau. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Johnson Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery.
