She was born in Belmont County, Ohio, July 25, 1878, the daughter of the late Wellington and Sevilla Bonar Gillaspie. She had spent many years of her life in Wirt County, and had resided in Wood County for the last ten years. She was a member of the Grandview Church of Christ.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Georgia) Milhoan, Rt. 3, Elizabeth, Mrs. Park (Mildred) Richards, Vincent, Ohio, and Mrs. Somerville with whom she made her home; two sons, Earl Brown, Rt. 3, Elizabeth, and Delbert Brown, Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brown; an infant daughter, five sisters, and one brother.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternon from the Camden Avenue Church of Christ, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Earl P. Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Wirt County. The Franklin Funeral Home of Parkersburg was in charge of arrangements.
