Mrs. Laura May Knapp Dies Sunday at Kearney

Laura May Knapp, daughter of Callahill and Gertrude Goodrich, was born June 14, 1864 at South Bend, Indiana, and passed away December 7, 1952 in Kearney, Nebraska, at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 23 days.
In 1872 she came to Nebraska with her parents and settled on a timber claim six miles east of her present home.
In 1885 she was united in marriage to John Knapp at Central City, Nebraska. To this union eight children were born, all of whom are living.
On August 18, 1935, they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary at their farm home, all the children being present for this event.
She leaves to mourn her eight children: Mrs. Mary McCann of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Bessie Curtis of Herman, Nebraska; Mrs. Helen Zlomke of Sidney, Nebraska; Mrs. Barbara Chittendon of Nampa, Idaho; Mrs. Eva Whitley of Custer, South Dakota; Cal and Charlie Knapp of Palmer, Nebraska and Martin Knapp of Omaha, Nebraska; many other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Knapp, in 1942.
She was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors of Palmer and a member of the Palmer Methodist Church.
This family has the sympathy of many neighbors and a large number of friends, for the loss of a fine mother and grandmother.
