George William Mulligan was born April 28, 1883 to Lawrence Thomas Mulligan (a Civil War Union Soldier) and Rachel Frances (Trail) Mulligan.

He married Frances Pulcheria Wagner in 1914. George and Frances raised 6 children, each one of whom made substantial contributions to better our world.

Rod born 1915,
Rachel born 1917,
Tom born 1920,
Jim born 1922,
Ramona born 1923 and
Virgil born 1927.

Four served our country as WW II Veterans. One was a U.S. Post Office Postmaster. One was a Pastor. Three were teachers. One was an Aerospace Engineer, who worked on our nation's space program from the first monkey in space through the Mercury Program, Apollo Program, Skylab, the Space Shuttle Program and various missle and satellite projects.

Grandpa passed away while my dad was still a teenager. I never met my Grandpa but I believe that I would have enjoyed him. Dad has many memories of his father, tucked away in his heart.

Grandpa had a great musical ear. He played several musical instruments, all self taught! He played the "fiddle" by ear. He was frequently asked to play at the local Square Dance. My dad has his father's musical talant. Dad plays the piano, harmonica and guitar by ear. Sadly the musical gene must have skipped my generation. I can't play a lick. Dad and I laugh about it every so often.

During the Great Depression, Grandpa frequently told his kids, "if we dont grow it or can't make it, we won't have it". This was the way in their generation.

Thank you for raising my sweet Dad to be the wonderful man that he is, you did a good job! We love you Grandpa.
