Friday Services Set for Retired Railroad Employe
Funeral services for Grant U. Hess, 72, of 229 S. Nevada, will be held at Culbertson Mortuary at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. L. H. Deffner, Immanuel Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hess, a retired Santa Fe Railroad employe, died Tuesday evening at his home. He had been ill for three years. He was born June 6, 1885, in Concordia, Kan., and came to Wichita from Goddard.
Survivors include his wife, Adele; two daughters, Mrs. Ada Snyder, Rt. 6, Wichita, and Mrs. Donna Reed, 2200 S. Seneca; two sons, Lawrence, 301 Baehr, and Bill, 5719 Flagstaff; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Herback, Pierce City; Mo., and Mrs. Olga Galloway, Monett, Mo., three brothers, Lawrence, Cottonwood, Ariz., Dan, Sapulpa, Okla., and Arthur, Kansas City, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
