Dr. Stutler was the first superintendent of the Cherry Creek School District in Aurora, CO, from 1946 until 1959. The Cherry Creek football field, Stutler Bowl, was named in his honor. In 1959, he became associate director of admissions with Stephens College in Columbia, MO, and served in this capacity for 13 years.
He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver and active in Bible study and the Young at Hearts Club. He was a longtime member of Colorado School Masters, and was one of the founding members of the Epsilon chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College in 1927.
At the time of his death, he was survived by a daughter, Janell Jones, Bolivar, MO; a son, Douglas Stutler, Estes Park, CO; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His wife, Nell K. Stutler, and oldest son, Don Clark Stutler, preceded him in death.
Dr. Stutler is interred at Fairmount Memorial Terrace in Denver, CO.
